The peculiarity of glass sculptures are reflections, mirroring to the outside and translucency or transparency to the inside: the sculptures shine and sound; compositional, geometric discipline and order meet dynamic creative fantasy. Glass objects are coordinated variants of the same system, aesthetic symbols of a new visuality and a new musicality. They combine the new content of artistic expression with the original material.

Heartbeat 2010

The Electrocardiogram is a sign of life and love. It symbolises the rhythm of the heart and indicates the need for harmony within man and his inner balance between emotional and mental intelligence.

Eye 1985

Ciril saw The Eye as the most complex organ of the human body which allows internal perceptions based on external impulses. A specialty of this sculpture are reflexes, reflections to the exterior, and transparency to the interior.

Scream 1990

With the Scream, Ciril depicted in glass a modern version of the sculpture with the expression of screaming out of horror, which he designed in bronze in his classic opus. It is the shouting of a witness of torture in opposition to the torture of man. The anarchy of hostility is defeated by the artistic arrangement of the glass sculptures.

Synthethis 1990

With Synthesis, Ciril sought to express his anti-war position, drawing inspiration from his experiences as a World War II survivor. The sculpture embodies the goal of equilibrium over confrontation, starting with two triangles that, through their confrontation, merge into a sphere.

Triad 1989

The dramatic church ambient and atmosphere was disturbing to the author as a child, looking for joy in the world and pleasure in life. In his adult age, he intuitively wanted to overcome the pain and darkness he felt growing up. He wanted to design Temples and Altars without suffering figures but instead creating transparency, optimism and light reflection.

Harmony

of Time 1995

A sculpture with a round shape that illustrates the melody of the present, combined with vertical lamellas that reach into the sky of infinite silence. In the author's words glass is playing music to him, he hears the sound watching glass panels.

Parameter

Cesar’s decision to design in glass and create glass sculptures was triggered by the light and reflection he accidentally saw in a pile of broken glass as the sun shone on him. He was inspired by the vision of light and touched by the brightness of the reflection.

Temple

The inspiration to design altars in glass came from the Ciril’s childhood as he practically grew up in his family’s woodcarving workshop. Family members in the workshop manufactured sculptures for churches and furniture for sacral interiors. The strict religious environment was suffocating for the young child. He perceived the whole atmosphere in churches as very tragical.
